TAO is the money. A subnet is a shop doing one AI job. Staking is putting your TAO to work — parked on the main chain, or on a shop you choose.
The words that matter
- TAO is the coin. You buy it, send it, or stake it.
- A shop is a subnet — one AI job, with its own token.
- Park leaves TAO as TAO on the main chain. Usually the calmer choice.
- Stake on a shop swaps TAO into that shop’s token. You can earn more of it and still lose TAO if the price falls.
Phone and computer
On a phone, tap Copy link if you landed in X. Then switch to the Nova app → Browser → paste. X cannot jump into Nova. On a computer, Talisman is the usual wallet. Add to Home Screen if you want it to open like an app — no App Store, no seed. The Stake tab is where TAO actually moves.
Why you can trust this page
- We never ask for a seed phrase, private key, or wallet file. If a screen ever does, it is not this app.
- Connect only shares a public address. That address is already on the chain.
- You sign every stake in your own wallet. The prompt names the fee. We do not send you somewhere else to finish it.
- Numbers on this site are public chain data. Briefs are editorial. Past APY is a look-back, not a promise.
What happens to your TAO
After you approve, TAO leaves your free balance and sits with a validator. Parked TAO stays TAO. On a shop it becomes that shop’s token. Gains stay inside the stake — they do not land as free TAO by themselves. To get TAO back, tap Unstake, approve in Nova, then Refresh · live. When parked TAO crosses the next whole number — 19 to 20 — Your book marks it with a small +1. That is still staked, not free in Nova. Lines under 1 τ show four decimals, so 0.19 can move to 0.1912 before it ever becomes 0.20.
How to pick a shop
- Is there a live product a stranger can use today?
- Do customers pay in dollars, or only in network rewards?
- Can anyone outside the team check usage?
- Is the team public and still shipping?
- Is there enough liquidity to leave without wrecking the price?
- Is the owner selling the shop’s token faster than the product is earning?
Most shops fail several of those. A handful pass. Read the brief before you stake.
